It’s not an exaggeration to say that our Faith and Friends nurses became like family during our son’s medical journey. When we were hit with a hard diagnosis, we didn’t realize how much we needed home health care until we had it. They walked us through questions, doctor visits, therapies, and cry sessions. Even though he no longer needs home health, we still stay in touch with our Faith and Friends friends. We’ll be forever thankful that God blessed us with these special people.

"We'll be forever thankful that god blessed us with these special people."

I had been a nurse almost sixteen years. In that amount of time I have done several types of nursing but I have fallen in love with pediatric private duty nursing. In August of 2020, I found myself unhappy with my current job. A friend gave me Kate’s number. I also spoke to Rachel about all the scheduling options. This wonderful team listened to what I wanted. I wanted to take care of my patients, to love them and their families, to make a difference in their lives!! The Faith and Friends team took the time to meet me, to train me, and to listen to me when I had questions or had a hard day. I love private duty nurses because your patients and their families become your family. You learn how to take care your patients, give them comfort and they give you the sweetest smiles that light up your world. So thankful I took the leap of faith almost three years ago!!

From our Nurse

Leaving my son Tanner with nurses took years to begin. I was hesitant initially because my children are God’s greatest gift to me! Even the thought of leaving him made me nervous. Tann was fragile, bed bound, and relied on total care- he was very much cognitively aware. If anyone took just a moment with him, his Smile would leave a mark on their life!
What private duty nursing did for me was - It allowed me the opportunity to go back to work, to help in providing for the rest of my family. Also, I could run errands with ease, and make it to my other kids activities. And, Some days PDN simply meant - I could get a shower, or get fresh air and play with my dogs just for my mental well-being. All of these things could be done without the worry, and knowing my son is being cared for. A couple of these nurses became so close- one I still consider Tanner’s grandmother.
“Faith and friends” came into our lives during an incredibly vulnerable time. A company we were formerly with closed it doors without notice, the day my son Tanner was having major surgery. We were forced to find someone quickly, who could resume care when we came home. As soon as I spoke to and met the owner, Kate- I knew this company was the right fit. I could trust that their nurses would be present to care for and love my son, Tann. And, I also knew their nurses would be held to a high standard. The owner Kate, along with others in management positions not only are compassionate, they are also reliable. There were even times they would make a visit if the integrity of a nurse was questioned at all. Whether Tann was coasting at home, or was in the hospital, Kate and several others would Show Up to offer encouragement, love, and support in whatever way we needed.
Even after my Angel Tanner has passed away- I still consider them and several of Tann’s nurses family. They continue to reach out offering support, and love for my family and I. And, I will forever be Grateful for having “Faith and Friends” in our lives!

"Faith and Friends are more than a business, they are family. And, to my son Tanner and I, his mother, they were actually much more."

It is an absolute honor and privilege to get to work with Faith and Friends Healthcare Staffing. I specifically use the word “with” instead of “for” being there is a definite difference. Some companies make the employees feel like employees that are only there to get the job done for that business owner. Faith and Friends has made me feel like part of a team and they’ve cared about me and the patients and their families from the moment I first talked to Kate on the phone about the job before I had even met her. The administrative team has shown me on more than one occasion how much they care about me and even my family separate from being an employee. This is not just a job or career for me. It’s my way of life. My way of fulfilling my purpose on this earth. I worked hard for a nursing degree, but that only allows me to do what my heart is happy doing. Taking care of people. I get to be there for these children and their families. I get to make a difference by providing the care they need on a daily basis. The patients I get to take care of may be nonverbal, but they sure say a lot to me. I wear my shirts and jacket with the name “Faith and Friends Healthcare Staffing” very proudly because I know who I’m representing. Every single nurse and administrative team member who makes up the company assures me that there is light that still shines bright in this world. It’s so nice to be part of something that you’re not the only ray of light struggling to shine. We all shine together.

Our decision to choose FFHS for our private duty nursing was one of the easiest decisions to make when it came to making preparations for our sweet Ean to come home. Faith and Friends were the first and only group that we spoke with and we knew after our first meeting with Kate and Rachel that it was a match made from Heaven. They arranged for several nurses to meet us at home to help with our transition from the hospital. We were always staffed to fit our schedules and our nurses truly became like family. We have shared lots of laughter and love with FFHS even after Ean’s transition. We are forever grateful that God so perfectly aligned us together. THere’s not a day that goes by that we don’t reminisce on our memories with our FFHS family.

I began my journey with private duty nursing 3 years ago when I started caring for a patient I had previously taken care of in the ICU in his home. At the time, I didn’t realize how big of an impact this journey would have on me. Working with pediatric patients in their homes and seeing them thrive has been amazing! While I enjoyed working at the hospital, I have loved the long lasting relationships I’ve built with my patients and their families. There is something special about bringing high quality care to patients in an environment they can feel secure and loved which is optimal for their health and development.

Working with Faith and Friends has been such a great experience. I’ve been with the company for about 3 years and the administration team is always so kind, accommodating, and open to listening! They truly want what is equally best for nurses and families. They strive to ensure that both parties are satisfied. Getting to know so many different families and developing relationships with the patient, the parents, siblings, etc is the best part of the job! Getting to see the growth and development that happens (sometimes even when you don’t realize it’s happening) is truly a reminder that God works all things out in His perfect time. Each patient is so special and unique, and walking with them on their own journey is such a blessing.

This is by far the best job I have ever had. Having been a nurse for 12 years I have a wide variety of experience. I haven’t had a day where I dreaded going into work in the year that I have worked for Faith and Friends. Of course our patients have their bad days and there is work in caring for them, but working for Faith and Friends is 99.9% stress free. Your job is taking care of one (stable) patient, filling their needs, and playing with babies/kids all day. You decide what you want your schedule to look like and they make it happen. When life happens and you have to call in with your own sick child, they are more than understanding and there is usually a nurse that will fill in for you. Everyone works as a team. The best part is that you’re working for people who truly care about their employees; When my own mom had surgery, the administration called the day of to see how it went. Working for Faith and Friends you can truly make a difference in the lives of your patients and their families- and you can see it.

From our Nurses

Working with Faith & Friends has made me fall back in love with nursing. I wake up excited and happy to go to work everyday knowing that I get to love on our sweet babies and their families. Although nursing can be a stressful and taxing career, that has not been my experience with private duty nursing. Anytime I’ve had a question or concern, all it takes is a quick text or call to someone on the Faith & Friends team and they are ready to help. At the start of this job, they happily made sure that I was familiar and comfortable with all skills and interventions and have continued to be involved and helpful. The whole team truly shows that they care about their nurses just as much as they do their patients and families. I’ve gotten to see the whole team show up for our families wether it’s been bringing food, bringing gifts or needed supplies, attending birthday parties, riding home from the hospital with families to help them get situated at home, etc. I’m proud to work for a company that genuinely cares so much. Getting to watch our babies grow, overcome obstacles, and live their day to day, while also providing peace of mind for their families to be able to work or find respite, has been priceless. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling job.

Faith and friends has truly been a life saver for our family. After bringing home a 6 week old medically complex baby I wasn’t sure I would be able to go back to work. She had stopped breathing at home with me at 1 week old requiring 7 minutes of cpr before regaining a pulse. We then spent a month in the PICU and left with a gtube, oxygen, and more questions than answers. I was so uneasy about leaving her with anyone however we met many of what would soon become her home health nurses while she was in the PICU so we knew she would be in the best hands. The gracious and compassionate staff of FFHS immediately made us feel at ease. Over the past 2 years they have become like family to us. The nurses love and care for our daughter like she is their own celebrating every milestone and supporting us through sicknesses and hospitalizations. The administrative staff is very engaged and always work their hardest to accommodate any scheduling needs. This company has been one of the greatest blessings in this journey with our daughter and we couldn’t be more grateful for them!
