We pride ourselves in treating every family as an extension of our own. Your child’s medical needs are our highest priority. Our goal is to pair your child with the most skilled and compassionate nurses that you can trust and build close personal relationships with. We strive to make sure they are the right fit for not only your child but also your family. We want to bring as much normalcy, peace of mind, and consistency as possible to your child’s care. It is important that your child and family feel cared for and supported. We communicate often to relay information about your schedule and to hear your feedback on how nursing is working within your family and to stay informed and updated about any changes in your child’s care.
Private duty is a service available to children that need more individual and continuous care than provided by a visiting home health nurse. Private duty nursing is prescribed for hourly LPN/RN care anywhere from 4-24 hours/day whereas home health nurses only come to perform a nursing skill or assessment and then leave.
Your child is prescribed PDN by an ordering physician. They may qualify for LPN or RN level of care if
- They have a tracheotomy and/or is ventilator dependent
- They are dependent on g-tube or j-tube for nutrition and medications
- They require seizure monitoring and intervention
- They require oxygen administration and monitoring
- They require skilled nursing assessments
- They require TPN administration
Private Duty Nursing (PDN) is skilled nursing care for children with complex medical needs to be able to live at home while having their medical needs met as ordered by their physician. The patient must be medically stable enough to receive nursing care in a non-institutional setting.
